Risk and Real World Conflicts

Author: Lance Winslow

Have you ever played the game of risk? Well if you look at the Middle East right now with all the conflicts, wars and changes it sure looks a lot like the game of Risk. Many decry the United States in Iraq and their heavy hand in the region, however perhaps they too quickly judge. Indeed the US involvement in Iraq is controlling a huge region.

The future generations of America and the World stand to gain with a controlled Middle East and a region rid of radicalism. Some say the US involvement is only about oil, yet although it is one component it is certainly not the only one. Many peaceful nations have had International Terrorist attacks. Many people say war is a business and the Worlds industrial military complexes are to blame?

Sure War is a business, luckily we have leadership, which picks them carefully and really war is a human problem and fewer people die in major conflicts when they are over quickly and precision weapons are used. Many say that the second Gulf War was wrong?

Well, look at a map sometime, See where Iraq is; dead center in a problematic region. Ever played "RISK" before. Iraq was an excellent strategic move. Now we look to modify regimes in Iran and prevent the future promise of their leadership. Many say the companies making weapons and getting military contracts are the same old companies.

However, the companies most of these detractors mention are American Companies, with American employees, working for a WIN/WIN = Profit and Protecting the American People? I ask liberal anti-Bush Administration detractors; do you feel threatened in your home at night from Middle Eastern Radicalists?

Things are changing there and the Islamic World is growing up around the Middle East. There are still some radical holdouts. Peace in the Middle East is not an overnight project. Iraq is a huge chunk of real estate, with millions of people.

It takes time and hard work and yes, a little friction. For those who badmouth the United States and our strategies, you miss characterize truth and show a lack of knowledge and reveal a low IQ. Perhaps you should just be quiet, take a time out and sit in your corner of political correctness while the real men get it done. Consider all this in 2006.
