Read This Article if You Hate Paying at Tollbooths

Author: Lance Winslow

Have you heard of the tollbooth fee bandits? They are the ones who cruise thru the tollbooths pre-pass without having a pre-pass card. Sometimes you will see the light go on and then as flash and the machine has just taken their picture. They will have to pay if they sell their car. You have to wonder are they driving a borrowed car? What is the deal, some one is going to get a fine? Could even be up to fifty bucks?

A bummer indeed for that person who will have to pay and it happens more than you think. A lady in the Dallas, TX area ran the tollbooth 2900 times. She claimed that she did not understand what she was suppose to do because she did not speak English and that she had run the toll booth at the border too when she came here and was afraid of getting into trouble you see? Never the less this great excuse did not deter the officers who showed up at her house to arrest her ass.

The lady had set a record for the most times running the toll booth and owes $76,000 in fines, which took her about 20 months to do. She would have paid $1800 in toll charges had she done it the right way; even less had she bought a pre-pass, yet the penalties are 42 times the cost now. The Texas toll authority is glad to have caught her and says that over 35,000 drivers out of the 1-milion daily trips skip paying the fee. Her lawyer says it is a slight miss understanding and the lady is glad to pay a reduced rate of the pre-pass for twenty months, but would like to make monthly payments. You think we should trust her now? Think on this.
